Who We Are

Clint and Charisse Arndt opened Sunflower Care Homes with the goal of providing quality, compassionate care to seniors in our community. What began as a single home has, in just five years, grown to serve multiple communities throughout Kansas.

Sunflower Care Homes takes great pride in receiving recognition from Governor Laura Kelly and the State of Kansas for seamlessly integrating a fully licensed childcare center into our Long-Term Care (LTC) community. We are also honored to support the Alzheimer’s Association as a Walk sponsor, standing alongside families in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

In our continued effort to expand accessibility, Sunflower Care Homes now accepts HCBS Medicaid under the Frail and Elderly (FE) Waiver, ensuring more Kansas seniors have the opportunity to receive the care they deserve.

As a result of our innovative approach, owner Clint Arndt was invited to speak at the annual KHCA-KCAL conference in September 2023. At that same conference, our Emporia Executive Director, Lori Owen, was awarded the KCAL Assisted Living Operator of the Year.

Our commitment to excellence has also been recognized locally. Sunflower Care Homes received the Emporia Gazette Reader’s Choice Award for Best Long-Term Care Facility (2022) and was featured by Assisted Living Magazine as one of Emporia’s top-rated memory care communities.
